Kathy Kinghorn is the Program Director and co-owner of Therapy Utah.

She made a major career change when she went from working in the business world to working as a clinical therapist. Kathy started working in the world of counseling back in 2000 when she began volunteering as a Rape Crisis Counselor.

As she worked towards her degree, Kathy found that her heart was in working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, addictions and trauma. After extensive training, she became a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist and a Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist.

Because of her depth of knowledge in the arena of sexual addiction and betrayal trauma she became qualified to supervise those seeking this certification.

One of the individuals she supervises had this to say about the experience: “During my time with Kathy I have found her to be a very skilled clinician. She listens, shares valuable insight and understand the issues I bring to supervision. I always leave with knowledge and tools to move forward with my clients and practice.

Kathy always puts me at ease when I come in and she is easy to communicate with and validates me as a therapist and colleague.” – Mike R. Kathy has presented at conferences across the country on the topics of sexual addiction and betrayal trauma. She was recently in Texas sharing her unique perspective of recovery over time.

Kathy runs retreats, blogs, supervises, presents and creates content. She was featured in Utah Valley Magazine as one of the valley’s “Fabulous 40” in 2013.  She is a member of NAADAC, IITAP and trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
